Back – Thoracic Compression Fracture – T9

These fractures most often occur when the spinal column is subjected to forces that are greater than its strength and stability. Thoracic compression fractures are most often caused by falls from heights, motor vehicle accidents, and penetrating trauma. Common symptoms include: severe back pain, some pain relief when lying down, deformity of the spine (IE. “hunchback”), and some relief when lying down.

Potential Settlement Value

In 2006, the Court in Moore v. Wienecke, [2006] OJ No 202 awarded the injured person $60,000 for injuries that included a compression fracture to his 9th thoracic vertebra.
